Bedard Pharmacy & Medical Supplies is hiring a Customer Service Representative for our Medical Supplies location in Auburn. This is a 40-hour position with varying hours Monday thru Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., and rotating Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. When scheduled to work a Saturday, time off will be given during the week.

Job Summary

The Customer Service Representative:

  • Learns the products and services offered by Bedard, the computer systems used, and the guidelines and regulations required by federal, state, and accrediting organizations
  • Handles initial customer contact in person, over the telephone, or via the web. The initial customer contact may be with the client, a caregiver, a referral source, or a commercial account.
  • Receives, qualifies, and processes all customer medical equipment and supplies orders in a timely, efficient, accurate, and courteous manner
  • Maintains and creates patient files
  • Investigates and responds to customer inquiries regarding shipments, products, deliveries, and complaints

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • General office skills (computer, typing, fax, filing, multiple phone line)
  • Ability to work well in fast-paced environment
  • Ability to adapt to changes in environment and/or workflow
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining accuracy and great attention to detail
  • Ability to make independent decisions
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional, service-oriented working relationships with customers, facility staff, and co-workers
  • Strong communication skills (writing, speaking, and listening), and good command of written and verbal English
  • Neat personal appearance with pleasing manner
  • Clerical or customer service experience preferred
  • Medicare/Medicaid and commercial insurance billing, bookkeeping, or medical office experience preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting, standing, and/or walking for sustained periods of time, raising objects from a lower to a higher position and/or moving objects horizontally
  • Frequent/continuous reaching, grasping, lifting, and carrying up to 20 lbs. below waist level and at or above shoulder level
  • Repetitive walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching

Bedard Pharmacy & Medical Supplies is hiring a Medical Biller with CPAP experience.  This a full-time position in Auburn, Monday thru Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
 
Job Summary
The CPAP Specialist Biller is responsible for verifying insurance coverage, insurance qualification requirements, and patient responsibility in a timely manner.  The Biller will learn the requirements of the different insurance companies for each of the supplies, equipment, and services supplied by Bedard.
 
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum one year medical billing experience
  • Ability to read and understand medical terminology
  • Ability to learn and understand the insurance approval and/or qualification process
  • Ability to learn and understand billing protocol, reimbursement requirements, and timely filing
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and great attention to detail
  • Pleasant professional telephone manner
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional, service-oriented working relationships with others

Bedard Pharmacy & Medical Supplies is hiring a full-time Pharmacy Technician for our busy retail pharmacy in Lewiston. This position has varying hours Monday-Friday between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., and a weekend rotation of Saturday and Sunday 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. When scheduled to work a weekend, time off will be given during the week.

Job Summary

The major responsibility of the Pharmacy Technician is to support the Pharmacist in the prescription fulfillment process by:

  • Assisting Pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medication
  • Receiving and storing incoming orders
  • Answering the telephone
  • Counting stock and entering data in computer to maintain inventory records
  • Processing records of medication dispensed to customers, computing charges, and entering data in computer
  • Setting up prescription orders for delivery
  • Learning and understanding QS1 software

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with willingness to attend continuing education related to the position
  • Proficient general office skills (typing, computer, fax, filing, multiple phone lines)
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a stressful environment
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to focus with great attention to detail
  • Ability to use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with customers and co-workers
  • Ability to use general math skills to perform basic calculations
  • One to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting preferred
  • State of Maine Pharmacy Technician Registration (can be done after hire)

Physical Requirements

  • The position requires standing 100% of the time and occasional walking of short distances
  • Bending the wrists and use of the hands to grasp or pinch, handle or feel objects, and using keyboard and computer equipment is required 100% of the time
  • Body movements of turning the head and torso, bending, reaching, lifting, moving, and carrying objects is required at least 50% of the time
  • Bending at the knees and waist and lifting weight of 20 lbs. or more is required at least 50% of the time
