Bedard Pharmacy & Medical Supplies is hiring a Customer Service Representative for our Medical Supplies location in Auburn. This is a 40-hour position with varying hours Monday thru Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., and rotating Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. When scheduled to work a Saturday, time off will be given during the week.

Job Summary

The Customer Service Representative:

  • Learns the products and services offered by Bedard, the computer systems used, and the guidelines and regulations required by federal, state, and accrediting organizations
  • Handles initial customer contact in person, over the telephone, or via the web. The initial customer contact may be with the client, a caregiver, a referral source, or a commercial account.
  • Receives, qualifies, and processes all customer medical equipment and supplies orders in a timely, efficient, accurate, and courteous manner
  • Maintains and creates patient files
  • Investigates and responds to customer inquiries regarding shipments, products, deliveries, and complaints

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • General office skills (computer, typing, fax, filing, multiple phone line)
  • Ability to work well in fast-paced environment
  • Ability to adapt to changes in environment and/or workflow

Job Summary

The major responsibility of the Pharmacy Technician is to support the Pharmacist in the prescription fulfillment process by:

· Entering/maintaining patient profiles in the pharmacy information system (QS1)

· Entering new prescription information into the pharmacy information system for pharmacist verification

· Processing prescription refill requests

· Answering incoming phone calls

· Filling prescriptions for pharmacist verification

· Assisting in maintaining pharmaceutical inventory

· Ordering medications, stock drug shelves, clean drug bay shelving, remove expiring medications from stock

· Maintaining accurate and up-to-date prescription files

Maintaining delivery receipts

Qualifications

· High School Diploma or equivalent with willingness to attend continuing education related to the position

· Proficient general office skills (typing, computer, fax, filing, multiple phone lines)

· Excellent communication and customer service skills

· Ability to multi-task in a stressful environment

· Good problem-solving skills and ability to focus with great attention to detail

· Ability to use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with customers and coworkers

· Ability to use general math skills to perform basic calculations

· Insurance billing knowledge preferred

· One to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting preferred

· State of Maine Pharmacy Technician Registration (can be done after hire)

Physical Requirements

· The position requires standing 100% of the time and occasional walking of short distances

· Bending the wrists and use of the hands to grasp or pinch, handle or feel objects, and using keyboard and computer equipment is required 100% of the time

This is a full-time position, 2nd shift, Monday thru Friday with a weekend rotation of Saturday and Sunday. When scheduled to work a weekend, time off will be given during the week and the Pharmacist will be on-call during that week.

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Pharmacist in Charge, the Staff Pharmacist’s primary responsibilities are to:

· Evaluate and interpret orders, and dispense medications according to written orders/prescriptions issued by authorized prescribers

· Identify, prevent, assess, and resolve medication-related problems to ensure a safe and optimal patient outcome

· Promote, through criteria-based protocols, clinically rational drug therapy and sound pharmaceutical care

Qualifications

· Pharmacy degree (BS or PharmD) from an accredited school of pharmacy

· Pharmacist license in good standing in the State of Maine

· Immunization Certification through an accredited organization

· Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations

· Ability to document in a clear, concise, and legal fashion with appropriate grammar and word usage

· Ability to effectively communicate, verbally & in writing, with all levels of staff and patients

· Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with various members of health care teams, physicians, and staff
