Bedard Pharmacy & Medical Supplies is hiring a Pharmacy Technician Supervisor for our long-term care pharmacy. This a full-time position with varying hours Monday-Friday between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., and weekend a rotation Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. When scheduled to work a weekend, time off will be given during the week.

Job Summary

The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor directly supervises the Pharmacy Technicians. The Supervisor manages the day-to-day activities of the department, designs and maintains workflow, and provides staff development and performance evaluations.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Pharmacy Technician Registration with Maine Board of Pharmacy or ability to obtain
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) Certification in good standing or ability to obtain within one year of employment
  • Proficient general office skills (typing, computer, fax, multiple phone lines)
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint), DocuTrack, DocuSign, and QS1
  • Good command of written and oral English, and excellent communication skills
  • Superior customer service skills, ability to manage escalated situations and resolve challenging customer issues
  • Ability to mentor, train, and discipline staff in a constructive and positive manner
  • Ability to exercise professional judgement to mitigate potential problems
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and diverse environment
  • Ability to focus with great attention to detail, demonstrate workflow prioritization, and have high standards for quality and accuracy of work performed
  • Ability to use general math skills to perform basic calculations
  • Minimum three years related experience as a Pharmacy Technician with some supervisory experience preferred
  • Medicare/Medicaid and insurance billing, bookkeeping, or medical office experience preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting and/or standing for sustained periods of time, and occasional walking of short distances
  • Occasional bending at the knees and waist, and reaching, grasping, lifting, and carrying up to 20 lbs. below waist level and at or above shoulder level
  • Good motor coordination with good manual and finger dexterity to type and to pick and pinch small tablets with fingers and seize, hold, grasp, and turn objects

Bedard Pharmacy & Medical Supplies is hiring Pharmacy Technicians for multiple locations:

  • Part-time with 10-hour shifts between Monday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and a weekend rotation on Saturday and Sunday, 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. When scheduled to work a weekend, time off will be given during the week.

Job Summary

The major responsibility of the Pharmacy Technician is to support the Pharmacist in the prescription fulfillment process by:

  • Assisting Pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medication
  • Receiving and storing incoming orders
  • Answering the telephone
  • Counting stock and entering data in computer to maintain inventory records
  • Processing records of medication dispensed to customers, computing charges, and entering data in computer
  • Setting up prescription orders for delivery
  • Learning and understanding QS1 software

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with willingness to attend continuing education related to the position
  • State of Maine Pharmacy Technician Registration (can be done after hire)
  • CPhT Certification in good standing, or ability to obtain for advancement
  • Proficient general office skills (typing, computer, fax, filing, and multiple phone lines)
  • Proficient in or ability to learn Outlook, Teams, DocuTrack, DocuSign, and QS1
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask in a stressful environment
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to focus with great attention to detail
  • Ability to use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with customers and co-workers
  • Ability to use general math skills to perform basic calculations
  • One to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting preferred

Physical Requirements

  • The position requires standing 100% of the time and occasional walking of short distances
  • Bending the wrists and use of the hands to grasp or pinch, handle or feel objects, and using keyboard and computer equipment is required 100% of the time
  • Body movements of turning the head and torso, bending, reaching, lifting, moving, and carrying objects is required at least 50% of the time
  • Bending at the knees and waist and lifting weight of 20 lbs. or more is required at least 50% of the time

Job Summary

The Medical Billing Specialist will provide customer service to patients needing diabetic supplies and is responsible for verifying insurance coverage, insurance qualification requirements, and patient responsibility in a timely manner. The Specialist will learn the requirements of the different insurance companies for each of the diabetic supplies and services supplied by Bedard.

  • Maintains and creates patient files.
